Mozafforian’s Late Appearance Costs His Tournament Life

After just one hour of play, the field is already down to 12 players. The shortest-stacked Ron Oomen didn’t last long and was the first player to leave the room. Mozafforian’s story was more interesting.

He was fifth in chips coming into Day 2 of the Main Event, but the thing was… he didn’t come.

And We're Back!

Fourteen players and the €35,000 cash prize for the winner, Tonybet Open Face Chinese Poker World Championship Main Event will crown the first-ever OFC world champion today.

The Day 2 of the event has already started with the remaining 13 competing for the title. After Day 1 its Russia’s Nikita Nikolaev in the lead with 502,000 chips, followed by the Norwegian Mikal Blomlie with a 439,000 stack and another Russian player Maxim Panyak with 418,000.

Tonybet OFC Poker World Championship Breaks another Record

The field of 135 entries and a €117,855 prize pool – the Tonybet OFC Poker World Championship Main Event broke the record for the most entries to a live Open Face Chinese tournament twice. The day before the Tonybet World Championship saw its High Roller event become the richest OFC tournament with a total prize pool of €218,500.

Two WSOP Bracelets, No OFC Belt

Two WSOP bracelets in Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo and Seven Card Razz, does not guarantee a OFC Championship title – George Danzer just left the tournament leaving the field at 31 runners.

The Payouts Are In!

With the late registration now closed and level 8 at 1,000 points almost done, the final entry numbers are in.

The record-breaking live Tonybet Open Face Chinese Poker World Championship Main Event gathered a total of 135 entries making up for the largest field ever in a live OFC event.

No Back-to-Back

The second shot was no good either and the OFC Poker High Roller Champion Jennifer Shahade left the event at the beginning of level 8, leaving the tournament with 43 players still in the running.

This means we’ll be crowning a whole new champion tomorrow and the end of Day 2 will see another Open Face Chinese master lift up their own World Championship belt.

We're on a Break

After six levels of play, the Tonybet Open Face Chinese Poker World Championship Main Event is now on a 30-minute dinner break. Thus far we have 123 entries with 104 players left at the tables.

The late registration does not end until the end of the break, so we expect the total amount of entries to increase even more setting the bar for a number of players in a live OFC Poker event even higher!

Danzer and Shahade Take Second Bullets

The two-time WSOP bracelet winner George Danzer took a second bullet after busting early in the event and then re-entering for another €1,000.

The second attempt seems to be more successful as Danzer is still in action at the Main Event tables.

More Stars at the Tables

Just after last night’s champion Jennifer Shahade took her seat at the table, two more big names appeared in the field.

The Russian poker celebrity Alexander Kostritsyn, who was also present at the High Roller tables, along with the two-time WSOP bracelet winner, Germany’s George Danzer. The two lifted the total entry number to 109.

The Champ is Back!

After Crushing the Tonybet OFC Poker World Championship €10,000 High Roller Event, Jennifer Shahade is back at our live Open Face Chinese tables.

At the moment she’s the latest entry making up for a total of 107 players to buy-in to the €1,000 Main Event.
